Pool ChlorinatorAdelaide

Salt chlorinators, mineral systems and replacement cells.

A working chlorinator makes pool life easy. A dying one makes it a chemistry nightmare. We supply and install salt chlorinators from all major Australian brands, including mineral system upgrades for gentler water.

Signs your chlorinator needs attention

  • Chlorine output dropping even at full boost
  • Cell plates visibly scaled or worn
  • Control panel flashing errors or dead
  • Pool going cloudy despite the chlorinator running
  • Cell over 6 years old
  • You're constantly adding extra chlorine to compensate
System options

Salt, mineral or cell replacement

Salt chlorinator

The standard for Adelaide residential pools. Produces chlorine from salt in the pool water — low-touch, consistent and reliable.

Mineral system

Magnesium-based systems for softer, gentler water. Easier on eyes, skin and hair. A premium upgrade that sensitive swimmers notice immediately.

Cell replacement

If your power pack is still working but the cell is scaled or worn, a new cell is the cost-effective fix. Saves 40–60% versus replacing the whole unit.

Honest advice

We'll tell you if cell replacement is enough

Some installers automatically push full system replacement because the margin is bigger. We'll look at your existing control box, test it and tell you honestly whether a new cell will do the job or whether you need the whole system.

If your power pack is only 3 years old and still under warranty, replacing the cell costs a fraction of the full system — and we'll tell you so.

Frequently Asked Questions

A quality salt chlorinator supplied and installed typically costs $1,200–$2,500 in Adelaide depending on pool size and features. Replacement cells for existing chlorinators usually run $400–$900. Mineral systems cost a little more but produce softer, gentler water.
Quality chlorinator cells usually last 5–8 years in Adelaide if the water chemistry is kept balanced. Cells fail faster if calcium hardness is out of range, if the cell is descaled too often or not often enough, or if the pool runs at high salt levels.
If the power pack (the control box) is under 8 years old and working, replacing the cell on its own is usually fine. If both are old, replacing the whole system as a matched pair often makes more sense — warranty, longevity and efficiency all improve.
Yes. Mineral systems (magnesium or similar) produce softer, gentler water that's easier on eyes and skin. They cost a bit more upfront and use slightly different consumables, but they're worth it for sensitive swimmers.
Yes — salt is fine for fibreglass, concrete and pebblecrete pools. What matters is balanced water chemistry. If the pool surface is failing, chlorinator or not, that's a resurfacing conversation.
